Her community activities are fundraising, public relations, conferences and retreats, helping always needed individuals with tragedies, sickness, and any crisis.

She has volunteered and contributed to many charitable, fundraising activities. She has been the invited speaker to several groups and school graduations. Xiomara has been in radio and TV interviews and has lectured in Latin American countries. She has been in Central America (Costa Rica, November, 1999, August, 2000, March-April, 2001; and Panama: March, 2001); and in South America (Chile, May and December, 2000, and May-June, 2001; Peru: Tacna, May and December, 2000 and Tacna and Arequipa, May-June, 2001; Puerto Rico, April, 2003, and Viña del Mar, Chile, Nov. 2003). She has been invited (although never attended) to Mejico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Argentina, London, England; Madrid, Spain; Switzerland, and Varsovia, Poland.

She has assisted several doctors and parents all over the United States and the world, including Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, and Venezuela in the diagnosis of RETT syndrome, disease that her daughter Sandra suffers. Her first book, "Mi Cruz Llena de Rosas: Cartas a Sandra Mi Hija Enferma" (My Cross Full of Roses) has been helpful as one of the sources of the International RETT Syndrome Association for Spanish-speaking parents, teachers, doctors and medical staff and therapists, not only in United States, but in Spain and Latin America.
